چکیده

Abstract In response of swift heavy ion (100 MeV I 9+ ) irradiation, the irradiation‐induced disordering in nonstoichiometric pyrochlore composition (Nd 1.8 Zr 2.2 O 7.1 was compared to that stoichiometric Nd 2 7 . Both compositions were prepared through auto gel‐combustion followed by sintering under identical conditions. Systematic analysis before and after irradiation performed with X‐ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, plane‐view high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) techniques. Irradiation caused amorphous phase transformation observed both except slower rate amorphization The achieved as a consequence isolated disordered track overlapping at higher fluence estimated diameter 2.73 ± 0.05 3.46 0.30 nm for , respectively, employing framework single‐ion impact model XRD results. HRTEM micrographs also revealed less prevalence modified region composed defect‐rich structure, anion‐deficient fluorite domains; 3.0 1.0 5.0 respectively. preexisting structure helps its epitaxial growth recovered from melted during rapid cooling.

Singlet excitations in pyrochlore: a study of quantum frustration.

We apply the contractor renormalization (CORE) method to the spin half Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the frustrated checkerboard and pyrochlore lattices. Their ground states are spin-gapped singlets which break lattice symmetry. Their effective Hamiltonians describe fluctuations of orthogonal singlet pairs on tetrahedral blocks, at an emergent low energy scale. We discuss low temperature thermo...

Electronic excitations of fluoroethylenes.

Several lowest-lying singlet electronic states of vinyl fluoride, trans-, cis-, and 1,1-difluoroethylene, trifluoroethylene, and tetrafluoroethylene were investigated by using symmetry-adapted cluster configuration interaction theory. Basis sets up to Dunning's aug-cc-pVTZ augmented with appropriate Rydberg functions were utilized for the calculations. Calculated excitation energies show a good...

Electronic excitations from a linear-response range-separated hybrid scheme

We study linear-response time-dependent density-functional theory (DFT) based on the singledeterminant range-separated hybrid (RSH) scheme, i.e. combining a long-range Hartree-Fock exchange kernel with a short-range DFT exchange-correlation kernel, for calculating electronic excitation energies of molecular systems. It is an alternative to the more common long-range correction (LC) scheme which...

Quasiperiodic Response to Parametric Excitations

Parametric excitations are capable of stabilizing an unstable state, but they can also destabilize modes that are otherwise stable. Resonances come into play when the periodically forced base state undergoes a Hopf bifurcation from a limit cycle to a torus. A Floquet analysis of the basic state will identify such an event, but in order to characterize the resonances, one requires precise knowle...

Electronic Excitations in Aggregates of Bacteriochlorophylls

Photosynthetic organisms have developed antenna systems to enlarge their cross section for capturing sunlight. These systems involve in some cases aggregates of bacteriochlorophylls (BChls). The structure of one such aggregate, a tightly coupled circular hexadecamer of BChls and a loosely coupled octamer of BChls, has recently been solved. In this paper we investigate the electronic excitations...
